GERMAN FEDERAL MINISTRY OF DEFENCE DELEGATION VISITS MMCC ZONE F

A delegation from the German Federal Ministry of Defence visited the ECOWAS Multinational Maritime Coordination Centre (MMCC) Zone F Headquarters at Christiansborg Castle, Osu, on 12 August 2026.

The delegation, led by Colonel (GS) Marc Vogt, was received by the Director of MMCC Zone F, Navy Captain Daniel Gnamien Ehu.

During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the mandate, structure and operational activities of MMCC Zone F, with particular emphasis on its role in strengthening maritime security cooperation and coordination among countries within the Gulf of Guinea.

The briefing also highlighted the Centre’s efforts in information sharing, maritime domain awareness and regional cooperation, particularly in addressing emerging maritime security threats and challenges affecting the Gulf of Guinea.

The engagement provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on maritime security, regional cooperation and the importance of strengthening collaboration among international and regional partners in support of maritime safety and security.

The visit concluded with a tour of Christiansborg Castle, providing the delegation with an opportunity to gain further insight into the historical significance of the facility that houses the MMCC Zone F Headquarters.

The visit underscored the shared interest in enhancing cooperation and partnerships towards promoting a safer and

more secure maritime environment in the Gulf of Guinea.
