Zone F Director and the deputy took part in the Main Planning Conference (MPC) of the Grand African Nemo 2026 exercise, held in Brest, France, from 31 May to 6 June 2026, bringing together maritime security stakeholders, planners, and operational experts for a week of strategic discussions, operational planning, workshops, and collaborative training activities. The programme included presentations on operational feedback and lessons learned, discussions on the Yaoundé Architecture, a briefing on the YARIS platform, and planning sessions for GANO 26. Participants also attended media and photography training, engaged in thematic workshops and working groups, and exchanged experiences aimed at enhancing coordination, interoperability, and cooperation in addressing maritime security challenges within the Gulf of Guinea and beyond.
Throughout the conference, CRESMAO actively contributed to discussions, workshops, and planning sessions alongside regional and international partners. The Centre’s participation helped reinforce the exchange of best practices and advance the objectives of the Yaoundé Architecture through strengthened operational coordination and information-sharing mechanisms. In addition to the working sessions, the conference provided valuable opportunities for professional networking and cooperation-building through official receptions and social events, culminating in a closing ceremony that highlighted the outcomes of the week and reaffirmed participants’ collective commitment to enhancing maritime security across the region.
